ABOUT KARA

Designing
what’s next

Over the past two decades, my career has spanned design, strategy, and sustainability.

I spent 13 years at frog and was VP of Regenerative Design. During this phase of my career, I worked in design research, org and experience design and was head of design for Germany.

As global lead, I built sustainability-by-default design practices across 30+ international locations, and partnered with client teams at Ikea, Lululemon, Lufthansa, and Patagonia.

Along the way, I came to see design differently. It was not just about products or brands, but the systems, behaviors, and futures we build together. That realization became the foundation for my regenerative practice.

Today my work focuses on creating direction by unlocking the stories, skills, and structures needed for the next economy, one that is centred on livable futures. There is a growing shift where those who will shape what's next aren't protecting what they have now. They're building something worth inheriting.

Design as a business is a balancing act with clarity, honesty, and decisiveness on one side and curiosity, intuition, and empathy on the other. Kara is a master of both. Working with her, I watched her make people feel safe to open up while still providing direction, structure, and a clear path forward. Few people combine empathy and leadership this well and I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with Kara again in the future.

Why work
with Kara?

Design that changes systems, not just surfaces. I don’t treat sustainability as a concept. It’s an operating condition. The work goes beyond messaging and taps into how organisations actually decide, invest, and behave.

Clarity without simplification.
I have a gift for holding complexity. From ecological limits and cultural nuance to power and economics, I translate it into language, frameworks, and artefacts people can actually use.

A collaborator who raises the bar.
I bring rigor and generosity by asking better questions, challenging defaults, and creating space for others to think more boldly without ego in the room.

Long-term thinking in a short-term world. My perspective is grounded in futures, regeneration, and responsibility to what comes next, not just what ships this quarter.

Seriousness of intent.
My work is thoughtful, calm, and precise. No green gloss or growth theatre. Just well-made things in service of better futures.
