The Assembly
To build better gatherings.
The need for transformative gatherings is growing, and yet many offsites or retreats lack the content and soul that teams crave.
I design and host transformative, immersive gatherings that reconnect participants with the living world and with each other. Each event blends sensory design and curated content to create space for reflection, imagination, reconnection, and redirection. From concept and curation to facilitation and experience design, I help organisations and movements convene differently to bring new forms of working and momentum to their organisation.
Ideal for:
Brands, organisations, and communities seeking transformative bespoke experiences to prepare teams for the next economy.
Formats:
Curated events, expeditions, residencies, and gatherings
Example Gatherings:
Shared Table — intimate thematic dinners blending soul and systems change
Expeditions* — experiential offsites where leaders learn to prepare for the unpredictable
Pilgrimages — longer-term, place-based residencies exploring deeper topics of creativity, leadership, and transition
*For companies seeking an option for their high-performing or catalyst leaders, The Field Trip Co. is a series of place-based expeditions that shape both the inner and outer requirements of a next generation leader. Organisations can sponsor a seat. Reach out to learn more.

Working with Kara has been one of those rare experiences where outstanding professionalism and genuine humanity go hand in hand. She is deeply curious, courageous, approachable, and incredibly thoughtful. What sets her apart is that she doesn't just talk about putting people at the center of design. She truly lives it in every interaction and every decision.
As a true visionary, Kara has an exceptional ability to see people in all their complexity and translate those insights into meaningful work. Collaborating with her was not only inspiring from a creative perspective, but also a real joy on a human level. She made our work better and our team stronger.

CLIENT STORY
Dinner with a Side of Design
Food as a conduit for city building, Design Week Vancouver
During a facilitated three-course dinner, participants investigated new ways of responding to the complex topics of culture, economics, and sustainability by applying design methods to shift the system. The dinner table became the conduit for idea development and exchange. The aim was to explore how a collaborative, informal approach can help a community work collectively toward a common future.
